Please recommend airline for 2 pax LAX - SFO. LAS - LAX. Will each have a checked bag under 23kg.

Cheers,

Jason

Well as a WP why wouldn't you use AA and at least enjoy the benefits of status including early boarding and the lounges (except LAS which doesn't have any)? You could even use YUPP/KUPP fares and get some cheap SCs if the stars align.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It's a really short flight and there's tons of competition (especially LAX-LAS).

I'd shop mostly on price to be honest.

Price and schedule - for 1 hr flt timing can be equally as important as price - as others have commented so much comp on these routers.

There's so many flights there'll be a choice at pretty much any time of day. But yes, the time of day the OP wants to travel is obviously important!

Southwest is always a good option.

Southwest normally has competitive pricing and includes one free checked in baggage. You should also get free checked in baggage as QF WP on AA. However, other airlines that could be an extra cost that also needs to be factored in. Also, be careful of airlines like Spirit that also charge of carry on baggage.

Southwest was very good from LAS kerb check in too. Also the advantage you don't have to fly onto LAX, use Ronald reagan ( unless you're connecting at LAX of course )

Unless you really wanted to fly, which if you have to go via another airport will take all day, I'd be happy to take the day and hire a car and drive.

I have done driving from LAS-LAX in 4 hours. It is an easy drive, and you would spend the same amount of time checking in, waiting, flying and getting luggage anyway.

Highly recommend a good road trip in California, LAX-SFO vice versa, take the PCH, enjoy the scenery.

Vegas by car is always fun, LAX to Vegas in 4.5 hours or less depending on your desired speed and traffic in/out of LA.

Those who are QF WP & have a TK Status match for *A Gold can fly UA & take advantage of the free checked baggage allowance.

If flying on VX (Virgin America) you can always upgrade to First for around USD50.00 when you OLCI or at the airport kiosks (subject to availability of course) which includes checked baggage.

I would only fly AA if it was a non-stop flight as it seems a lot of time wasting having to go via LAX
