Hi guys
as a part of USDM redemption, me, MrsBOZZ and BOZZJn (2 & 1/2yrs) have a J class trip to BEG in August. TG on SYD-BKK(744)-ZRH (346) and back and LX on ZRH-BEG and back.
We have selected seats and meals on TG.
I am interested in any recent experiences on TG flights, preferably on SYD-BKK-ZRH sectors, ie amenity kits, food, drinks, service.
Also interested in lounges, which lounge should we use, do they all have showers, any differences in food/drinks etc
Any comments on lounges in ZRH would also be welcome!
Thank you

amenity kits - you will get them
food - average, better out of Sydney than bangkok imo
service - decent but will vanish after meals, use call bell as required
drinks - stock standard, charles heidsieck champers is the latest IIRC

lounges - in bangkok concourse C and E have showers. i would use whichever is nearest my gate. there is little difference if any in food offerings at the designated business only lounge on concourse d. be sure to visit the thai spa on concourse d opposite the F lounge for your 30 minute head and neck or foot massage

I've reviewed TG business many times on my blog Aussie Flyer if you care to visit.

TG is a mid range J product, not the best but it's comfortable enough...

Thanks for that Aussie_Flyer and thank you for the link to your blog. Just read your TG reviews, and was particularly interested in your BKK to LHR review.
I know it was day flight but did you find seats on 346 comfortable for sleeping?

They are ok if you can manage to sleep on angled lie flats. They are not totally flat but I find them comfortable enough. I manage a few hours but even on totally flat seats including the SQ A380 suite I can't sleep really well on aircraft.

thanks again! Few hours should suffice and I'm sure that Charles Heidsieck will help :)

After entry to lounge, i recommend you get to spa pronto and book the massage...then you can enjoy the lounge facilities and pop over to Spa at the designated time.

Actually when we were there the lounge staff went away & organised the appointment, came back & told us how long it would be & then came & got us & led us over to the spa

Last two posts are referring to F class massage I think. For J you just walk in. There is rarely more than a 5 minute wait.

I found the Duck hard to fault ex BKK.

No, I fly J with TG. Btw, the walk from the lounge to the departure gate can be quite long.

Well most passengers in J show up at the spa and simply get a massage either right away or within a very short time. Whilst waiting you can have a cold drink and wet towel. I always use the lounge nearest to my departure gate, usually concourse C. I avoid the D lounge most of the time unless I am using a D gate.

Thanks everyone. Yes, the plan is to head straight to the spa as we only have couple of hours between the flights.
Good to hear that duck is good too, thanks Markis, it's what I ordered for the flight back to Sydney.
BTW, do J passengers get pj's or should I bring my Qantas ones?

No pyjamas.

They are fine but there are many problems too, I've flown around 100 premium class sectors with them and to be honest there is lots of simple things they can do to bring it up to scratch but poor management lets them down.
