Has anyone had any experiences getting from Dubrovnik to Prague?

I am going to be in Dubrovnik in August for a few days, and hoping to continue on to Prague for a few days afterwards. There are no direct flights that I can find.

Quickest option seems to be some combination of Croatia Airlines and Austrian Airlines (3:05 including a stop in Vienna!) This is an attractive option but I can't imagine how our luggage will make it onto the connecting flight. The date I am looking at is 25th August.

Any other ideas? I'm on a pretty tight timeframe and so trying to avoid spending too much of it in transit.

One other question... we are on EK004 departing LHR back to Sydney at 20:40. If I get a BA flight from Prague to LHR that gets me to LHR at 5:15pm, will that leave enough time to get from one terminal to another onto the Emirates flight? The alternative is an early morning flight and an entire day spent at Heathrow...

CSA fly direct in summer but only twice a week - Wednesday and umm Saturdays I think? You'd have to check.
Pretty awkward little trip really, a bit like combining the Great Barrier Reef and Cradle Mountain. Personally I would go to Vienna and leave Croatia to next time. But that's just my opinion.

Thanks rechoboam. I can't for the life of me find the direct CSA flight on their website or Skyteam's. Have accommodation booked in Croatia so can't really move that.

Well I know they announced it but I certainly haven't flown it so perhaps it never eventuated?

Dubrovnik has some of the best food in Europe, certainly better than Prague! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

According to timetable that is 55 mins connection. If the first flight is on time, that should be enough time for luggage to make it. Assuming it is on the one ticket, if things go pear shaped with that flight there are another 3 OS flights from Vienna to Prague that day, including one just 3 hours later.

FWIW I did a Croatia Airlines connection LHR-Zagreb-Sarajevo in April, connection time at Zagreb was 40 mins and everything worked like clockwork. (sigh of relief...)

Thanks so much dajop. Will give the Croatia Airlines flight through Vienna a go, and as you say the connection comes unstuck then there are more flights later that day.

Thinking about this part of your question, have you thought about trying to reticket out of Prague on Emirates at 16:00? Might not be allowed to if you have cheap ticket/rules restrictive. Also would leave you with o/n at Dubai, but depending on penalties might save money (no need to get flight to LHR) and stress.

Thanks again dajop. I hadn't thought if flying Prague - Dubai - Sydney. That would be awesome. Not sure if our fare rules would allow a rerouting like that but have asked...

Would love to avoid transiting through LHR. Especially when we would have to get that bloody transfer bus from T5 to T3 in a short period of time. Also the T3 transfers area was absolute chaos last time I was there.

Avoiding LHR is sounding even better right now. Just remembered that BA won't interline luggage with non-oneworld carriers e.g Emirates

So the transfer from BA to Emirates at LHR would be a nightmare. Get off BA flight at T5, go through immigration, collect luggage, clear customs, then somehow get to T3 and checkin to Emirates flight.

Is there an easier way of doing this (apart from going direct from PRG-DUB, which may or may not be possible)?
