Wondering if any of the more learned members could help me with some questions about the VA service Brisbane to Nadi.
Am searching for some options in July to attend a wedding in Fiji and can see direct service BNE-NAN-BNE. The website shows it is operated by Virgin Australia NZ. Is this the former Pacific Blue as I thought it was all one brand now. Secondly there is no Business class fares for sale, only Premium. Are these the red recaro convertible style seats or are any of these aircraft reconfigured with the new business seats but you will just get a premium service. Any advice would be appreciated. I am looking at points + pay which is 13,800 points plus about $550 as opposed to $1600 to buy

Virgin Australia NZ is the new name for Pacific Blue, or at least, that's a good way to think about it.

A couple of the new BSI and refitted aircraft have appeared on Pacific Blue (Short Haul International/Virgin NZ) routes. I don't know if they are actively refitting the VA NZ aircraft.

Getting an aircraft with red seats isn't such a bad thing, when I did BNE-NAD a year ago I turned a row of three into a bed. More comfortable than a J seat IMO.

You'll just get premium service AFAIK, as in, pick whatever you want off the menu.

Thanks Liam. Thats what I was hoping for and happy with the premium service. I was concerned that some of the old blue seats with fixed arm rests and a drop in middle seat/table may still be around. Hopefully not by the sound of it.

Just did this flight last Sunday.

Over the 3 days while in Nadi it was only the NAN- BNE flights that were in Virgin Australia new colours. All other flights were in older Pacific Blue colours. But thats not what you wanted to hear.

The good news was on Saturday night when checking seat selection for one last time, the seat map changed to include a wall infront of row 1. Fingers crossed new business class interior, well on boarding plane new business class seats!!!. I was the only one infront and whY was full. In row 3(first eco row) leg room looked the same as row 1.

Service was still whY+, with anything off the menu and free digiplayer.

I did get the new Virgin Australia comfort pack- blanket, eye shades, ear plugs, tissues, socks.

NAN has premium check in lane, but no lounge, express customs/immagration lanes.

The BNE-SYD flight had full business class service. This plane was with the BSI interior.

Go ahead, you will enjoy it.

Thanks rotuma1. You have just convinced me to take the chance. Hopefully by July there will be even more of the aircraft refitted or new ones on line so the chances are pretty good of getting a business class cabin with Y+ service.

I understand that the NZ-registered fleet are very low on the priority for refits, and even when they do get refitted, it will still be in an all-Y/Y+ setup, to match what Air New Zealand are offering as part of the Trans-Tasman alliance.

BNE-NAN-BNE services operated by Virgin Australia(NZ) are operated by ZK-PB* aircaft bassed in CHC. These aircaft are staying in there current all Y config.
