Received a boxed book set from Qantas in the mail yesterday of ten books - each with a journey tagged on the spine. for example: The Australian Light Horse by Roland Perry. On the spine it has Melbourne - London / reading time 23:20 hours. I'm a WP1 who overshoots by 2,000 or so status credits a year - it's an appreciated gift. Qantas has delivered the goods in 2014 - in the air and on the ground.

I find it ironic that there is a book for PER-SIN. A route QF doesn't fly scheduled anymore?

May be the coughing is working .... can we expect a announcement that PER-SIN is coming back?

Alternately liquid paper out Singapore and put the words "no where"

This set has been available for a while. You could get it when PER-SIN was still around.

so they are giving their premium customers old books (at least 2 years, by my estimate) that they cant sell?

Surely they're not the first to use Christmas as an opportunity to wrap up and gift some stuff they don't want :)

Of course not.
When the event I used to help run in Melbourne was still around, some of the sponsors 'donated' old stock that they couldn't move.
It's a tax write off and clears storage space.

Um when they coming into year 2014 and giving Itunes\Google play app with the same info on it?
Fail in so many ways to me!

Being Italian, I know of relatives who put a dot on the bottom of the bottle of Rosso Antico to make sure it doesn't come back the next Christmas!

Being Greek, most people recycle gifts to others. e.g. receive a bottle of Black Douglas and then regift that to someone else. ;)
