I'm confused. I redeem my fuel vouchers for points. I paid particular attention to the fuel docket pricing yesterday and noticed I didn't receive a fuel discount for spending $5 instore.

I was under the impression the extra 4c a litre wasn't converted to points but was still awarded.

Am I wrong? I definitely didn't get a fuel discount.

I didn't think in store purchases were credited in any form once you have switched to points... The programming would probably be too challenging for Woolies to manage!

would be happy to be wrong though!

It's always been the case for me in the past that the additional discount offer for spending money at the servo does not apply when scanning an EDR card that is setup to earn points instead of redeeming the fuel voucher for the face discount. There are also no extra points awarded. It does suck, but it just means that I have no motivation to spend extra when refueling, so I'm saving money haha! :)

I must admit I haven't re checked in a while, but I did confirm I got bonus miles when I did the $5 purchase instore when the points offer first started.

Qff points technicality

That's interesting. I've tried it a few times over the last 6 months, and it's never given me extra points or a discount (and I've tried with different value vouchers - 4c, 8c and 10c, or rather 2/L, 4/L, and 5/L). Probably wont try it again for quite a while! :)

I filled up tonight and made my customary $5 purchase. I'll look out for it and let you know.

That's been my experience
Anyway I am now mostly using Coles vouchers..OT I know...for 1000 FB points they give you an extra 10c off per litre. Need to get to over 50 litres to make a FB point worth more than you can get for shopping rebate. But after that it's all pretty good

Interesting to note, the redeemed fuel offers now show the rate of points per litre earned.

Re: Qff points technicality

I can confirm that the $5 in store purchase did double the the points posted (On a regular 4c voucher)

this is fascinating. going to have to think about this as it may be useful at times.
That said there are so many vouchers around our family that a regular 4c voucher is way down the list
(currently we have 2x8c, 1x18c and 1x28c)

My experience is it adds 2points per litre to your points haul. Regardless of voucher size. I only mentioned the 4c one as that is what I used last.

I actually questioned Woolies when they first offered us the ability to convert to points. They advised the extra 4c could not be applied hence the reason I have always taken the fuel discount. I always buy 2 bottles of milk and believe I get better value taking the discount off the petrol

I can take screen shots if people need proof :)

Can you do so please? I did another fill up / test of this on Wednesday
31L fuel and 15cpl (7.5 points per litre) fuel voucher
Spent $6 in store.

I received 233 points (7.5 x 31). If the extra 4cpl for spending more than $5 in store had given points, I should have received 295 points.

I've just swapped to FF points from the cents off, so I'll be keen to know if buying $5 worth of stuff gets 2 points/L more. Might have to just give it a go myself; not confident though...
