I'll give you a bit of a run down on my situation and hopefully get some suggestions on whats best for me.

I fly domestically about 4 times a year and internationally to BKK about 2 times per year.
I can put through about $200k per annum spend on credit cards. I currently have Citibank Business Gold and Qantas Ultimate Amex.
I am currently QFF Silver. My QFF balance is about 200k points and Citibank account about 50k
I don't like flying Y and plan to only fly J where possible from now on.
I also like new cabins and to take the shortest routes possible.

Problem being is that I live Adelaide and will be living in Perth soon. The Qantas routes from both to BKK aren't ideal. Malaysia and Singapore Airlines routes are best from Adelaide as Qantas is via Sydney. Thai Airways is best from Perth as it's direct, with Singapore and Malaysia Airlines only having short layovers.

Is chasing QFF SG going to be of any use to me considering I still want to use them domestically and would to BKK if other award options arent available?
Malaysia Airlines is joining Oneworld Q4 this year so I can hopefully use my QFF points to fly with them.

Would it be with me getting a Citibank Select and crediting points to my Krisflyer account? Or just credit Krisflyer from Citibusiness Gold? This would give me extra options to get reward seats.

Any thoughts on this would be great!

To qualify for Citi Select will require you to produce a tax assessment for $120k or more and pay $700. I must say this Visa is my best one as it earns 1.33 true points to SQ Krisflyer and you can warehouse those points until you need them transferred.
Ultimate from Amex is a winner as well for QF points and you can get to SYD ex PER on the free flight.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Gold status will give lounge access, extra QFF points for longer flights and extra luggage allowance.

Only you can decide if that is worth it. Personally I would not bother chasing status if I only needed 4 flights a year.

You should be able to book partner awards with MH once they join Oneworld. Take note that partner awards are a little more expensive than Qantas awards so may not provide the same value.

Yeh this might cause issue. I won't have a tax assessment notice personally over $120k but with my business's profits added would. Do you know if Citibank can combine the both? I know CBA did when assessing my home loan.

Also do you know of any way to upgrade the free Amex flight to J?

On QF J I'll get lounge access and Max baggage anyway. The extra QFF points would be negligible. So I think that answers that question. Thanks.

With the Amex Ultimate free return flight I paid them $110 to get an upgradeable one way (in place of their cheapie return ticket),upgraded that flight to J then used points for the return from Syd-Per in J.

If you go with Qantas you could consider PER/HKG/BKK, latter with CX.

Thanks for the info. I have checked this option and it looks to be a 16 hour trip. With a 7 hour direct flight available on TG I would struggle to go this option.
