Hello all... First time poster and long time lurker. (Yes, you read that correctly, I begun with a cliche ;) )

I'm QFF Platinum (OW Emerald) and have just started my own business which means little old me is picking up the tab for my travel from here on out :(
Mind you, I made it to Platinum on 99% Economy travel, so I'm not one of you lucky coughs swanning around the front of the plane. (That was envy speaking, don't listen to him he's a cough!)

My question, now that we're getting to the crux of my post, is how do you find flight availability and price varies between booking online and ringing the Plat desk?

Thanks for your advice and also for welcoming me with arms stretched wider than the wings of an A380 (minus the micro fractures)

I must admit to booking online because a) I'm lazy, and b) I really don't like talking to people. That said my one experience with QF, via a phone booking, gave me a cheaper price.

...oh and welcome...I guess........:p

I don't think you would be doing bookings via the Platinum but rather via Reservations. And unless you have some complex routings or purchase higher booking classes I cannot see how the airfare is going to be cheaper over the phone.

Hi Christoo,

Welcome to AFF. I resemble your remark about paying for it all myself. -- Envy is OK if you keep him in his place :!: :D

welcome. Most of my flying is long haul international. I usually sit at the back, fortunate this year that someone's stumped up for the pointy end...now I'm trying to work out how I can do it on my own $...

Hi Christoo,

I tend to book most of my flights online at qantas.com. It's a great site and you can see all the choices in front of you rather than just hearing them.
