QFd (Y) to JQi (J) interline

I'm looking to book SYD-OOL-NRT on separate tickets - viz QF860 SYD-OOL connect JQ11 OOL-NRT. QF860 arrives OOL at 9:05 and JQ11 departs 10:30. I know that \officially published information suggests that QF will not interline, but I'm wondering whether anyone here has actually attempted - whether successfully or not - to request their baggage be through-checked. (If it matters, I am WP with QF.)

I do not feel confident enough booking separate tickets without any anecdotal evidence that QF will interline baggage for these flights. At the same time, I wish to avoid flying JQd if possible...

Jetstar basically don't do this (apart from some Int-Int connection mostly Singapore) and within Japan.

Plus I'd say that's too tight to risk the 60min check-in deadline.

I'd take the earlier JQ or VA flight

I did QF to JQ J a couple of years ago in MEL (ADL - MEL - SIN). There was no interlining. To make it worse QF managed to temporarily 'lose' my bag (that was the last and final straw for me with those stupid QF coaster luggage tags) and it came out long after everyone else's from the dom flight. I made it to JQ check in with my bag with seconds to spare, but I had been thinking I would have to choose between putting in a baggage claim for my bag or going to JQ check in without it and following it up later.

Why do you want to book JQi anyway? With my JQi flight it was all booked for Boxing Day then about 2 weeks out they emailed me and said they had cancelled that flight and had put me on a flight on Christmas Day instead. Took me hours on the phone to get put on a flight on 27 Dec instead. Never again for JQ for me - they were just about ok on board but otherwise the hassle of late flight cancellations and no interlining is not worth any perceived cost saving (IMO - YMMV )

The only time I've flown JQ was before they got any 787s. CBR-xMEL-NRT. QFdY-JQiJ.
Both flights booked together via travel agent. QF interlined.
Got a QF stock boarding pass for JQ, which JQ reprinted at the gate.

Would the bit of extra SC be worth it?
QF do sell premY on the 747 from SYD, or premY on SYD - NRT/HND with JL on the 787.
I would not trust JQi or JQd.
Cancelled or late flights, or missed meals because they were not loaded or what so ever.
Using stairs to board a flight esp 787!!!
I have flown them (JQ) on both dom and int sectors.
They are like the CSO you try to avoid at all costs in a queue.
