All depends on where Airbus has spares.
QF has an A380 maintenance hanger at LAX

Is the Daily Fail using "explosion" to try to make people think QF32?

Suspect so.
As jb747 says in the Qantas delays/cancellations thread a combustion engine is always 'on fire'

Passengers on social media bagging Qantas for the delays. Seriously! I am the first to get cranky about delays, but in this case I would just be grateful to just have had the incident handled safely and be alive and well.

Yes 480 passengers should be greatful that they landed safely. Losing one or two days out of about 30,000 happens sometimes.

Or even Airbus investigating something that happened in a Rolls Royce.

I understand that there is a picture circulating, purporting to be of this engine, but which is actually of QF32 up in Singapore.
