So I'm in DRW at the moment on a MEL-BNE-TSV-BNE-DRW-BNE-TSV-BNE-MEL, non DSC-enhanced JASA run. On my way to DRW airport I get a message saying my flight QF825 DRW-BNE has changed. I called the supplied number and the agent said it was now not departing until tomorrow morning, which throws my run completely out of whack. She mentioned I could go via CNS, although I wouldn't get to TSV until tomorrow morning and I'd lose the accommodation I booked in Townsville for tonight.

Reaching DRW airport and there's a long line of similarly affected passengers. I hear the aircraft has gone tech. I look for a DYKWIA line but there doesn't seem to be any and I see some WP tags where I am so decide not to push my luck. While waiting I think through the phone agent's idea and pull up the flights on my iPad. Best to be prepared and know what I want (something I learned from AFF).

When I get an agent I ask if she can put me on tonight's DRW-CNS flight and tomorrow's CNS-TSV so I can pick up the rest of my JASA run. I also asked if QF would pay for accommodation in CNS and she said not a problem and she printed out my new boarding passes to and then from CNS. These new flights of course don't have J class.

So I have about six hours to wait here - not only is there no J lounge but the QP closes in the afternoon... oh the humanity... I'll have to go and update my entry about the longest wait at an airport..

So my questions:
1. The rerouting via CNS is still considered involuntary isn't it, so I won't have any problems with an Original Routing Credit claim even though I proposed the change to the agent?
2. Should I hit QF up for any more compensation for losing out on the J flights to BNE and TSV and having to go via CNS in Y, or is the expected ORC, the rerouting via CNS and the CNS accommodation considered compensation enough?

VH-OGK took off as QF824 then had an air return returning to BNE approx 1230. QF525 canx so VH-ZXE could be used as a replacement a/c.

I would suspect that you would be entitled to a refund os some sort given that you were unable to travel in the class booked.
