Flying QF7 shortly, if JQ can get us to SYD in time to transit to T1 in time to board.....anyone flown lately and how full has it been? A Colleague is saying it looks pretty empty on 27 May from some website he has looked at.
If I go to seat selection it too is showing a pretty empty aircraft- looking to snag 4 seats for 3 of us.
Can anyone confirm if QF7 has been at capacity recently?
Cheers in Advance

Seat Selection doesn't give you a true indication as to how full a flight will be.

Where does your JQ flight to SYD originiate? You'll need to collect your bags at T2 of the JQ flight before making your own way around to T1 international via the train or Tbus - you won't be able to use the QF bus that goes airside from T3 to T1.

Make sure you've got at least 3 hours as you'll need to check in from scratch at T1 for the QF7 so you'd want to be arriving at T1 then not touching down in SYD.

You'll have a better opportunity flying back as QF8 is weight restricted so you could even get a row of four seats per person to stretch out on. In this instance looking at Expert Flyer may show zero seats available for sale but that won't have any bearing on the empty seats if they have stopped sale on the flight ie capped the number of seats for sale.

JQ domestic will still not through check bags to QF even if on the same pnr.

The only exception is if the domestic leg is operated by a JQ international flight eg JQ36 MEL/SYD/DPS where you'd be on the first leg of that flight checking in at MEL International Terminal.

yeah correct...will be a mad dash with bags on the train....and a kind AFF member provided an customs express pass for us. going to be tight but remaining positive

Are you going to checkin online? That way all you need to do is the bag drop. It would be handy if you can fill in your green departure cards ahead of time so you don't have to do it when you arrive at the international terminal. I don't know whether JQ domestic will stock them though.
