I had a monster flight year this year. 2,450 SCs on QF, 65,000 EQMs on AA and a bunch of other flights as well. With the help of the AA Challenge I achieved AA Plat and am 65% of the way to E-Plat. The challenge is what to do next in 2014 to plan for 2015

My flying in 2014 is going to drop by a lot. From 300,000kms to 200k ish. My home base is BKK. Will probably do (in J) two return flights to NYC and two to Europe. In Y, two to Oz and 2-4 around the SE Asian or Nth Asian region. My guess is that this is enough to comfortably get me to E-Plat on AA or re-qualify for WP on QF but not both.

I will be doing less flying to and from Oz in 2014 as I did in 2013 but probably enough to hit four sectors. But still I am wondering whether or not I should focus all of my energy on AA and let my QF potentially drop to LTG level.

What do people think? For 2015 should I hold QF WP and AA SG or QF LTG and AA WP?

Note - my QF qualifying year is Nov to Nov. For AA I am Plat until Feb 2015

As I'm never likely to experience any of the things you talk about, Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn

AA is obviously better to earn & burn miles on. QF gives you JQ/3K benefits but you'll have that anyway. Emerald over EXP won't be much a problem either. QF may gift you WP anyway.

You're not really saying what your goals are but I think you can work it out that WP won't give you anything over EXP unless you're really hammering on QF metal. I've turned to casually crediting flights to QF where there are no horrendous earn rates. Will probably end up in YUPP land and try to push for LTG then abandon QFF altogether. AA earn & burn are generally far superiour, that's the main deciding factor. Besides, you never know with QF, getting LTP on AA can't hurt at this rate.

This.

The question you are asking is: OWE+OWR vs OWS+OWS ?

It depends on what you will use from each program and what you value most.
