Hi All,
Can someone please let me know whether the QF NZ sale ( whenever released) would include the EK flights ( with QF number - QF8766). I am looking at booking tickets from Perth - Christchurch and return from AKL to PER in Feb2017. QF8766 is perfect timing for me but I am not sure if the sale would be applicable to this flight as it is EK metal.

Historical has this been part of the NZ sale?

Thanks in Advance!

I have too however I think there is an EK surcharge as the codeshare fares are sometime $50-60 more expensive for the same fare class.
This also goes for the LA/QF codeshare. SYD-AKL

Yes, there's like a $60 difference between the QF sale fare and the EK one(QF codeshare) eg: say $660 one way for QF metal and $720 ow for EK metal/QF# but obviously still worth it if status chasing.

better yet, ex-NZ have more sales, including F which can be real bargains, and the ex-NZ prrices don't appear to include the surcharge that I've noticed (but am happy to be corrected on that).

Have flown many a QF code/EK metal trans tassie sale fare over the years :D

For those interested, Qantas is currently having an Australia Sale (East Coast) on the Qantas NZ website.

Economy One Way from NZ199, Business One way from NZ599, First one way from NZ899,

Travel dates as follows:

25 July - 31 Dec 2016

31 Jan - 30 April 2017

Sale ends in 2 days (presumably Friday 15th July)!

The sales are quite regular. The one to look out for are sudden fare matches/price drops which aren't advertised by QF. For example, a couple of months ago TT fares ex-NZ on QF/EK to SYD/MEL/BNE dropped to NZD$450 one way and less than NZD$1000 return. Yet there was no advertised sale (that I was aware of). Not sure what the impetus was for that but it's the lowest J fares I've ever seen on those airlines. Not sure if it will happen again.

Agree with this

there have also been some seemingly odd short term fares out there from time to time.

I wouldn't mind if they repeated one they had last year for ex-MEL (only) in J on QF/EK for around $400 one way (the normal sale fare is over $600) but only for post Christmas dates eg: Dec 26-30). A small window, great price, and I enjoyed the flight :)

IIRC not advertised anywhere just randomaly picked it up via EF!

Does anyone happen to know of a good fare alert system other than manual searches for these cheap fares that aren't advertised?
