I'm currently looking at a trip around New Years into Asia and am needing some advice on open-jaw tickets on QF. The current plan is to fly SYD-HKG in early Jan, before returning SIN-SYD in mid-Jan. Trying to book online a one way SYD-HKG on QF is coming up at around $1200, with the SIN-SYD leg at A$400 (booked on the QF SIN site). The HKG leg only offers a Super Saver - am I correct in assuming that Red-e-deals do not apply for a one way trip? Booking a return SYD-HKG on QF offers the red-e-deal for around $800 each way.
I know I'm planning for high season and the fares will reflect that, but VS are offering SYD-HKG for $700 one way, so was curious if anyone has expereince about booking open-jaw international tickets on QF. Can it be done? By a TA? Of course I could take the VS flight, but QP membership is another factor in the equation. I'd rather not have to fly SIN-xHKG-SYD just to use a return leg on QF.
