Hi,

I will be booking my ticket though Qantas website YVR-BNE via SYD Nov18 QF 108 23:55 A380. (No QF12 22:20 A380 available that day) There are a few choices to get to LAX from YVR. Should I pick QF flight numbers? Example QF3776 18:25-21:20 or AS 702 18:25-21:20

Will this make any difference with my transitting tickets/boarding passes and earning status credits?

Return- Lax-YVR QF 3789 09:45-12:45 or AA3640 09:45- 12:45

This will be the first time I will use the transferring bus from terminal 6 to TB.

thank you.

AFAIK you need to have a QF flight to earn status credits. You can walk easily from T6 to TBIT, took me about 5 mins earlier in the year.

I have earned status credits previously flying on Alaska Airlines with an AA flight number, but two points:
1. They didn't credit automatically and I had to put in a missing points/SC claim
2. You would probably earn more SCs on the QF flight number.

With that in mind take the QF flight number option...

thank you, but if i choose QF numbers does that guarantee me more if connections are late and I miss the Qf108 or it doesn't help me- just for the status points?

Also it is offering UA flights as well.

Honestly, it wouldn't make a difference. As long as it's all on the one ticket, you'd be guaranteed your connection or to be re-accommodated if the flight was late. Choosing the QF number would give more status credits though, which is why I would suggest doing that. No status credits would be earned on a UA flight with UA flight number.
