Mrs Pyffii and I started our DONE4 yesterday with our first leg being MEL-HKG ....Arrived at the First class checkin early and we were promptly processed by Wendy and then an equally speedy process through security and immigation and we soon found ourselves in the First Class Lounge no more than 20 minutes after our curbside arrival...Breakfast was great with omelettes, fruit and of course champagne...Cant beat this lounge !!...Boarding was delayed because of a problem with the inflight entertainment system but then thats when things went a little pear shaped...First no priority boarding the excuse given that it was because of the delayed boarding...That still puzzles me ...then my boarding pass beeped red and I was given a new boarding pass many rows away from Mrs Pyffii...No way Jose....So the gate agent reissued my boarding pass back to my original seat next to Mrs Pyffii...Of course the passenger with my seat now had his boarding pass beep so he was needing a reissue...What I cant figure out is why, after our boarding passes have been issued ,would they would separate a couple ( and who are incidentally both WP's )_???....Anyways settled into 2AB and a very pleasant crew on board, in particular the CSM and Julie who gave us wonderful service and attention throughout the flight...The duvets were fantastic and made sleeping much more comfortable...The lunch was really nice and had the beef and rice salad and the chicken schnitzel sandwich ( thigh not breast but was nice anyway ) and icecream to finish off...Mrs Pyfii had the Blue Eye and really enjoyed that...The wines were great ( Grant Burge Cabernet and a boytrytis semillion ) and so we were both very happy with the food, wine and the service.....Arrived into Hong Kong on time and 30 minutes after landing we were on the HK Airport Express to Kowloon for our overnight stop....A great start by Qantas notwithstanding the small hiccup at the start:)

Flying tonight to Nice via London with Cathay and BA and its going to be an "interesting " experience in the BA 1st Lounge what with the flood of complaints...Will post a report but looking forward to the next generation Cathay seats ...hopefully a good nights sleep will occur
