So, what a day Sunday was...
Had my inaugural flight on a 787 over to Perth but must have enjoyed it a little too much, as I appear to have left both my QC35s and my Apple AirPods onboard :-(
I've called Qantas at Perth and Melbourne, Perth airport lost property and WA police.
Can anyone think of anything else I could do?
My life will not be worth living if my wife finds out.
Can't believe it - really totally gutted :-(

Sorry for your loss, but i think its don't hold your breath, unfortunately you have made someones day! I once did the same thing with Nakamichi headphones and iPod off an SQ flight leavign them in the pocket, but i remembered just as i got to the SQ lounge called down to the gate and they were still de-boarding. word came back that there was nothing in the pocket which to this day i not believe. Went through the normal antics with SQ, but i was pointless.

Just bought the QC35 to replace the old set and i wont say how good, as i don't want to upset you more.......

Would you have the travel ins that covers you and would they pay out for over 200kms?

We really need a hug button.

I would like to know where these items end up, considering they dont end up in Lost/Found property. Anyone else remember the US sting where they busted TSA workers stealing iPads and this guy blamed it on his wife while the iPad was pinging in the guys living room?

Do you have content insurance?

Similar thing happened to me few weeks ago, forgot my QC35 on QF flight, noticed 10 minutes later but it was 10 minutes too late. Was upset at first but then remembered I have insurance for lost property in Australia. Called my bank and the next day picked up new set of QC35 (model II) from JB Hi-Fi for $100.

Thanks everyone for your messages - actually made me feel a lot better.
I will try my home insurance (Coles online, so not holding my breath!!).
A colleague did find me a pair on sale from Amazon - so have a replacement arriving tomorrow, just in time for my flight back on Friday and only cost about $350 (I say only, it's an expensive mistake - but I reckon I paid about $600 for them initially).

Ooooooooops - just realized I ordered black instead of silver!!!

I like the black, I was looking at QF 35 II the other day but couldnt convince myself I needed new ones... yet.

I left my New Bose noise cancelling headphones on an emirates flight from Johannesburg to Dubai on 2nd March . I was last out the front business class cabin and as we exited the doors behind our cabin nobody else walked through. I left them in their case in the shoe compartment and realized while I was transferring to my next flight. Contacted lost property only to be told rather abruptly no headphones were handed in. Tried again when I got home only to get the same no headphones handed in. Called my insurance only to be told they no longer cover for items left on flights as they are rarely handed in. I realize it was totally my fault but being last off the cabin it leaves a sour taste as it had to be staff or cleaners. Had just got them for my birthday for my trip

Unfortunately, most (maybe all...) Travel Insurance policies that I’ve read explicitly EXCLUDE claims for ‘stuff left behind’, although they tend to use much fancier languagethan that...

Some policies are better than others, it’s important to check exactly what they cover. My current policy (part of home & contents) covers accidental loss anywhere in Australia for up to 5k. There is an excess fee and policy will go up the following year depends on number of claims but it’s something worth to have if traveling often with expensive items.

How hard would it be for Bose to put some form of security on to them? I lost a set on a QF flight from Perth to Melbourne last year. Not a peep from the various lost and found departments. Insurance helped though.

Instead of 'Find my iPhone' you could have 'Find My Bose'...this additional feature may add another chunk of Bose margin to the price however.

I was just thinking of locking them to a couple of copies of their software. But, as I have a spare 'Tile' here, I'll see if I can work out a tidy way of attaching that.

Yet ironically most policies cover you for items you ‘lose’. I once had an insurer try to deny my claim for lost luggage because I told them I left my item unattended. I then questioned how could I possibly lose an item without it leaving my possession. The claim was paid the next day...

I have had a Tile on mine. Unfortunately the tile turned up on the floor of the car park at SYD T1
The headphones took off by themselves
