Have just received the following email from the QFF team:

>>>
Dear xx_xx,

As a valued Frequent Flyer member we wanted to give you an update on the partnership between Qantas and Woolworths.

Woolworths and Qantas Frequent Flyer have been in partnership for more than six years. We are working together to ensure how, as a loyal member of Qantas Frequent Flyer and a Woolworths shopper, you will continue to get the best value from the rewards program.

We look forward to sharing further updates with you.

Yours sincerely
The Qantas Frequent Flyer Team

So, that is an "update" ?? Seems to me that the "update" is a nothing "update".

The cynic in me feels that the next update will be negative (such as "the partnership is off" or "the earnings rates have been reduced") but maybe I am too cynical.

Totally agree. I got it too. Why bother with such a non-update?:confused:

Cheers skip

And it will cost you

I haven't used my card for months and will cancel it before the annual fee date unless the 1 point for $1 ratio is restored.

This was just an attempt to dampen all the rumours of a break up wasn't it?

or prepare you for one

I feel another 'simpler and fairer' enhancement coming on. For many people the only defining difference (read motivation) for shopping at Woolies over Coles has been the QF points, so it will be interesting to see what they have planned to retain that "loyalty".

If it goes or is significantly devalued I will be a Coles/Aldi only man. Convenience of location will also drive this.

Re: Message from QANTAS - intriguing

interesting - this morning it seems to be firming up that QF will get dumped this weekend from a relaunched WOW program.

perhaps QFF will give bonus points on direct credit card spend at WOW to soften the blow, the timing of the EY/Fly Buys tie up is interesting too.

Personally I'm not a fan of loyalty cards, even though I would acknowledge there are benefits to be had. I only use the Woolies card to keep my kids QF points active (and gain a few points along the way).

If there's no more QF points then I don't see me using these cards any further.

i have a feeling the points bonus offers have been propping them up for awhile now - last few times I've been into woolies the cutbacks in staffing and cleaning are clear (and quite unpleasant).

Coles is cheaper or closer to where you live?
I work in FMCG so know they are both competitive on price, Coles is easier for me to get to and their stores are now a much better shopping experience than their major competitor.

What 'card' are you referring to?

Re: Message from QANTAS - intriguing

They probably will rid of their non credit card side of the EDR equation, and put a reward onto Woolworths own prepaid cards.
Thus keeping all revenue inhouse.
Coles now has a prepaid card earning FB points under its own brand.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
