Hi.
Ive got a flight booked to Amsterdam in the coming months. We are flying Qantas to Heathrow and landing in terminal 3 at 0655 and have a connecting flight to Amsterdam on British airways at 0825 from terminal 5.
Its all been booked as 1 ticket on the qantas website so we won't need to get luggage or anything at Heathrow we just need to get ourselves from terminal 3 to 5.
The times are pretty tight and I'm hoping it all works out.
Does anyone know how long it usually takes to transfer from terminal 3 to 5?
We are flying business so hopefully it won't take too long to get off the plane.

We did the reverse connecting between BA to QF from terminal 5 to 3 and it took about 30 min. The bus ride between terminals goes what seems like an eternity.

If you are on the same ticket, BA should put you on the 11.50 if you did miss it

I did this in the last few weeks. QF to BA (120min transit) and BA to AA (180min transit) through LHR. So T3 to T5 and T5 to T3 in J.
Took me about 1 hour from QF to BA. Main delay / time waster is the security line getting into T5. But QF gave me a fast track as i was in J (whcih i didnt use cause im a hoarder and love souvenirs). By the time i got to T5 i had enough time to take a shower in the lounge and eat something before heading to the plane.

With the fast track it would have been shorter transfer. They also called people who had less than 1 hour departure times from the line and inserted them into fast track. When I was in the line it was for anyone who had a flight before 8.30
The line extended from the zig zag in the security area around the corner in the corridor. So if your planning to use the fast track go past the line that extends down the corridor and head to the zig zag area and on the right is the fast track signs.

My slowest transfer time of 3 experiences T3 to T5 that time of morning is 80 minutes. It was EK J disembarking -- walk to transfer area -- bus to T5 -- to security -- gate. I am not a fast walker and on this occasion I had a bad cold so was not moving even at my usual pace. No lounge time. And if I didn't have priority lane access it may have been touch and go but in your case you should be ok.
