I'm looking at flying MAN-LCY in BA's new domestic business to get me to the 2,400 SC QF loyalty bonus. However, MAN-LCY is not a possible combination on the QF online points calculator. I've read through the other QF t&cs and it seems that all BA flights qualify and as such I should pick up 20 SCs for this fare. But wanted to make sure before I book!

I briefly posted that I thought you'd earn 40, due to a 10/20/40 Y-/Y/J split, but I see really short flights start at 5 SC on BA, so I would just substitute LHR for LCY as it has to be the same rough distance. In which case, you would earn 20 SC for J... and a whopping 250 points!

What are the prices on such a short trip?

I know I was offered to upgrade to J on some Y flights LHR to EDI that I booked for later in the year, but didn't see the value in what they wanted me to pay. I am looking at 2400 this year same as you, but will have to find an alternative.

I don't believe BA fly MAN-LCY. The Domestic J service launches on 1st April and there is still speculation surrounding the BA TP earn. I wonder if QF is even up to date with what it will offer?

It's BA CityFlyer MAN-LCY which should count. I've earned Qantas SCs with CityFlyer on AMS-LCY legs. A mystery ...

I take it back! It is a new route beginning 21st May 2017!

Domestic Club Europe begins on 1st April 2017. BA only started selling domestic Club Europe on 1st March. The BA systems are a bit of a mess with it at the moment with domestic flights showing up as cancelled online on the BAEC site.

My guess is that the QF site is working off the BA site which still has not been updated. The BA calculator still only gives:

The FT crowd believe bookings in R, I, D, C, J will earn 40 TP's. So I guess the question is....will QF follow suit as they do with Club Europe International flights. (Assuming the FT peeps are correct.)

I was just playing about with that. A return journey 17/9/17 - 28/9/17 comes in at GBP235.39.

When I tried a one way search it came up with GBP326.
Yeah I tried the same. Interestingly you can mix economy plus with business. Really don't see why someone would bother paying the premium for that flight aside from status runs... but maybe I'm a bit one eyed ...

Yep agreed. The BA redemption is GBP25 plus 9000 Avios each way.

I think GBP112 is not too bad for 40 TP's though, I am out of the loop on QF SC's.

I've noticed the crazy high one-way prices over return prices. Ended up booking a return LHR-BCN-LGW where for about 20GBP more (over Y prices) I could sit in J. Also extra SC of course, was a no-brainer. When searching a one-way, the prices were ridiculous! I'm not sure their reasoning :p

Does TP=SC necessarily? On the QF calculator it does specify that LHR-MAN on BA business is 20 SCs, though perhaps that's because the new BA domestic J is yet to get going?

No it doesn't there are plenty of differences, but typically the very short flights have earned 40 SC's or 40 TP's. My CE flights to Berlin/Munich etc all earned 40 SC's. An example that is different in Australia is MEL-BNE which with QF earns 60 SC's but with BA 40 TP's.

I think the issue you face is down to BA not actually having launched domestic Club Europe yet. The question is coming up frequently on FT.
