After many years as Qantas Chairmans Lounge we discarded the airline for awful service. Flying into Wgton we were left with no choice as Business flyers, alas. Trying to accommodate a simple request for a wheelchair for my husband turned into a 3 hour wait for service- and that was the second time around!

Emirates - no problem, polite and helpful. No wonder we have discarded our so called 'national airline '.

Thats a shame . I hope lifes better wherever you go. Cheers

Any chance you can flick the CL pass my way?:D

My recent trip to from MEL to KUL via SIN and a late arrival into SIN resulted in a ground staff holding card with my name at the gate to escort me from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 Qantas to MH. Not from my request but I guess just a proactive somebody in some office at QF as I had let QF know at checkin at MEL of my separate ticket SIN-KUL.

It does work - most of the time.

Always bad to hear of this type of thing, lucky when my elderly parents travel QF always looks after them well including wheelchairs.

Is your decision based on the poor service at WLG (which is not exactly a major QF station, not that should be an excuse) or for other reasons?

as a CL member(s) obviously you should get the best service, but to me 3 hour issues with Wheelchairs etc should be status-irrelevant and should be for everyone. sounds like a major CS failure at WLG. What did QF do as recovery for this (and other) incidents?

anyway good luck flying VA or whoever. Hope they meet your expectations better :)

I'm somewhat overwhelmed by the kind posts. The days when we hopped on and off Qantas flights to the UK are gone - thank goodness. No fun there but ?!
Travelling while disabled physically is a real effort for the carer, it may come to us all!
