Qantas - Lufthansa Interline?

Miss Aus ATC has a Lufthansa ticketed flight BNE-FRA via HKG. First flight is with QF so she will check in with QF of course. Would anyone know if QF has an Interline arrangement with LH, so her bag will be checked through, or will she have to clear customs in HKG and recheck landside for the LH leg of the flight? She has about a 5 hour connection so time is not critical, but obviously I would prefer she has an easier transfer.

Will be similar coming home, but on the return will be LH -> CX.

Should not be a problem. Flew earlier this year MUC-HKG-SYD and my bookings were not even on same PNR yet LH had no problem sending my luggage all the way with QF so I'd assume it will also work the other way.

Both QF and CX have interline agreements with Lufthansa.

LH to QF, EK or even Jetstar still works even with 2 separate bookings.

QF to LH only works in a single PNR.

On the same ticket QF will transfer bag to LH however there is no IATCI agreement for boarding passes so they will need to be obtained on arrival in HKG. Tell junior ATC to have the baggage receipt handy to show LH so they can input the tag details in to their system in case the details don't transfer across.

You could always trying doing an online checkin with LH but you would need to take a hard copy with you in order to get through HKG transit security as they won't accept an OLCI boarding pass your electronic device. No problems with a mobile QR code on a smart phone though.

If you can't do LH checkin ahead of time just to the transfer desk immediately after arriving on QF97 for your onward boarding pass before you head to transit security.

If LH opens their transit desk 5 hours before? There *may* be a wait for an hour or so until it opens. But there's free wifi and reasonably comfortable surrounds.
