I have U class return tickets to Sydney with partner and infant, then six hour layover in sydney, then economy flight to Honolulu with Hawaiian. Is there any chance of Qantas letting me in one of their lounges while I wait for the Hawaiian flight? Six hours is a bit excessive.

According to your profile I guess the initial flight is PER-SYD. If you are QF WP, then you have access to QF domestic Business lounge in SYD before making your way to the international terminal to catch your Hawaiian flight.

[h=3]Domestic Lounge access on arrival[/h]As a Platinum Frequent Flyer you can access Domestic Business Lounges or The Qantas Club upon arrival if you have travelled that day on any flight that shows a Qantas, a Jetstar Airline or a oneworld[SUP]®[/SUP] flight number on your ticket.^ You may also bring two guests, who do not need to be travelling.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The OP has asked a legitimate question, I have deleted some posts that were less than welcoming or quoted deleted text, please remember no matter how often you may fly, other members must be shown respect.

The OP is arriving on a QF flight in business, so inquiring about QP access is not that unreasonable. However, as others have already pointed out (without the sarcasm) the lack of QF status precludes entry. Perhaps if QF matched HA's daily service to Honolulu, the OP wouldn't be flying on a competitor?

Hi There,
Just read your dilemma. As you have no status with QF they won't allow you access into their lounge when flying with Hawaiin Airlines.

Nothing worse than travelling with an infant who might need a feed a nappy change and you want to do it in relative comfort. I was thinking, if you have a six hour layover. Since you have flown with Qantas in J.

Upon your arrival in Sydney could you head to the QF domestic business lounge to refreshen up grab a shower etc., Once you completed what you need to do in the lounge make your way to the Intertnational terminal to check in for your flight feeling a little more human than what you would have done.

Good luck and happy travels.:)

I don't think that's going to work Kef. I think Next onward flight that day must be on a Qantas marketed and operated flight in order to gain access to the lounge. Maybe the OP could look out for some QP passes being offerred ?

There is no published arrivals access to the QF Lounges for travellers in Domestic Business Class.
HA uses the NZ Koru Club which does have paid access and the link below from Australian Business Traveller suggests that it may be possible to pay on entry for HA guests

Hey Ashleyn, Ah well, worth a shot, I sometimes have come off a flight and have run into the lounge to use the facilities and then go home. So I thought if anotherworld just waved their tickets showing that they were on a QF J flight without any explanation on what they were doing for the rest of the day, they might be given access.

Maybe, worth a try I suppose.

You will need to get your bags as well so you will have a chance your bags could go missing.

I don't think HA interline with QF for baggage.

:oops:Ooooops for someone who does a lot of flying I completely forgot about a little thing called baggage....

QF is listed on HAs interline page.

Interline Baggage Statement

Yep but it has to be on the same booking.

If you are booked on separate tickets with another airline connecting to Hawaiian Airlines, you will need to collect your bags from the baggage belt upon your arrival at the connection airport and re-check the bags with a Hawaiian Airlines agent. At that time, baggage fees may apply.
If you do book flight connections on separate tickets on Hawaiian Airlines and another carrier, please leave yourself ample time to collect and re-check your luggage. We have made a significant investment in streamlining the check-in process at our Honolulu hub, and we hope you will find it quick and hassle-free. But please verify the recommended check-in times for the flight to which you are connecting, and leave yourself ample time to re-check your bags and clear security.

If you have an infant you will have checked luggage and probably a pram as well.

Maybe check out a day rate at an airport hotel ?

In that case a day pass with koru will be best, $55 each.
