Hi All

Just received this questionnaire - I'm surprised there was no questions about the new website and QF program.

We’d now like to ask you some questions about the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.

1. On a scale of 0 to 10, based on your experience with the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, how likely would you be to recommend the program to a friend, family member or colleague?

2. Why did you give this rating?

Please provide as much detail as possible.

I would love to recommend the QFF program as I do like the airline, but the "enhancements" are becoming more and more prohibitive. I fly to Europe twice a year and pay significantly higher fares to fly "Red Deal" compared to some of the Asian competitors. I can not request an upgrade. I need to keep paying for the fares rather than use points as I will lose my Gold status. To maintain my status, I make a point of flying business class domestically using Any Seats Available a couple of times a year. I can not see or book these flights now on line but must call Qantas. I am led to believe that the plan is to remove these seats within the next couple of months. Most of my guests fly to Europe on your competitors and pay significantly lower fares than mine. I feel like a mug. I do like your lounges, but feel my Gold/Sapphire Status is underrated by Qantas and OW carriers. The resetting of the Loyalty Bonus clock every year is another "enhancement" which reduces the value of the program. Frankly, if I don't make Gold this year, I will move my business elsewhere. I am a self funded traveller and while I travel in economy, I have been totally loyal to Qantas. I am also disappointed by the shrinkage of the Qantas international network. These are the reasons I would not recommend the program to other people.

Just got this as well, but haven't completed it yet.

Just got it too. I posted this comment....

"Over the past 10-20 years my wife and I have actually really liked the program and recommended it to friends. We fly to Europe once or twice a year and every 4th or 5th trip we do so using FF points - generally Brisbane to Singapore and Frankfurt.

Since the recent changes with Emirates I have been looking at options to use FF point from Brisbane to Dubai and on to Paris or Amsterdam. The access to FF seats, even up to a year out, seems to now be almost totally non-existant. I was stunned to see tha and have tried to get support from customer care on several ocassions without success.

If i can no longer effectively use my FF point to fly to Europe I suspect that, over time, I will be much less likely to fly Qantas. I have retained my Qantas Club membership as well and I may be thus forced to also let that lapse. This is a very big issue to us and, I suspect, to other people. I don't assume you will respond to this but I would really appreciate if you did."

I rechecked after the survey. I went through the flight booking process for BN-DB-AM and return in June/July next year and there are flights. When I try with a Classic Award there only options are Business Class Brisbane/Dubai/London/Amsterdam on the way over and Economy Amsterdam/London/Dubai/Brisbane on the way back.

VERY disappointed. We have always been able to book FF flights in the past when we ensure we book far enough out. Something is seriously wrong in their FF booking system or there are now significantly less FF seats into Europe.

I responded and let them have it too.

I've got 5 VA flights booked in the next 4 weeks until they sort their game out otherwise I wont fly with them again.

The most frustrating thing about QFF is the inability to book reward seats, even a year in advance! That's why I credit most of my overseas travels to the MH Enrich programme. I can get J reward redemptions even a month before I want to travel but usually 3 months before is sufficient. The QFF is definitely not in the same league when it comes to using up your points!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

I haven't gotten one of these yet, maybe because my crediting patterns indicate that I have disengaged from the program significantly in recent times. I hope I do, would love to post in the comment box that when I can earn more points from a shopping expedition at Woolworths than flying intra-Europe in Economy on Qantas' oneworld "partners", "Frequent Flyer" is a misnomer and the program doesn't really know what it wants to be any more.

I just got a survey - which noted QF's generosity in status renewal. Which I actually do appreciate.

Though I did note that my opinion of the QF program did not place it as my favorite or primary program.
Hopefully my other comments relating to SEAsia (schedule connections stopovers aircraft etc) will generate some thought.

Happy wandering

Fred
