Qantas award flight economy, seat release dates

Hi, I am wanting a economy award flight SYD to LAX or SYD to SFO between 29 and 31 dec. What are the chances Qantas will make one available between now and then? Hopefully they will release one a few days before. I search QANTAS award flights daily. I think the class im after is x. ALso what is the best time of day to check, does anyone know when they make the changes? Thanks.

From my experience of setting flight alerts with expertflyer, the chances are close to nil. This will be compounded by capacity shortages across the pacific at the moment.

Yes, I think forget it. Last Christmas I couldn't get a classic seat until Jan 22 on a trans Pacific flight.

You could also try going via Asia, try phoning QFF and have them check your options as not all flights show up online. It is a longshot but worth the call.
