Qantas award booking , IT issue?

Its a long shot, but does anyone know how often Qantas 'fix' their online booking system?
I'm getting the "Please provide a frequent flyer card for award and try again. (1348) " error when I try to change the names of the pax.
I booked a similar award back in October and everything was working back then. Any thoughts really appreciated.

Are you trying to change an existing booking? or are you making a new booking and trying to change the prefilled name of the primary traveller? (whose points you are using to pay for the booking)

In that case, you should update your QFF profile name to match your passport. You can do this relatively easily here: Log in

Click Personal Information, answer the security questions, then click 'Change your name'. You'll need to submit a photo of your passport as evidence.

I haven't been through this process personally so I don't know how long it takes for QF to approve the change, but if you are trying to book an award which has just been released and you're concerned it might disappear, my suggestion is to remove your FF number entirely and select 'Self' as relationship to logged in Frequent Flyer. It should let you book without any FF number attached to the traveller.

You can then add the FF number back onto the booking when your name change has been processed by Qantas.
 
that's exactly what ive tried to do, but unfortunately thats when the error pops up! :( oh well, i think i'll have to wait and hope they can change my profile soon.

Another alternative is to transfer the points to a family member, and have them book the award with you as the traveller (with no FF number)

No, they don't need to be travelling - they just need to be a family member to comply with T&C for both transferring the points, and making the booking

Just a minor caution on this before you transfer the points. Get the other family member to log in and check if they can see the availability award seat. If they are a lower FF status than you, the seat(s) may not show.

Hey i tried to make an award booking for my partner and it also came up with the Please provide a frequent flyer card for award and try again. (1348) error. I think maybe the website is down or not working properly. Anyone had any luck booking for their partners or family today?
 
so stupid us.. my partner's profile also doesn't have her middle name. So back to square one (ie stuffs up once you try to change the default profile)

I wonder if making a new FF account and transferring the points to myself would work.
 
to the OP if your profile details are now different to your passport then you should call QFF to get that sorted out. Yes, you should be able to do it online I agree, but seems to me this is going to be an ongoing issue for you, and you should not be manually changing things for bookings if the base information is now different to what it should be. I would definitely talk to QFF about it.

yes, totally agree. Ive put in a request on the phone, sent in my documents etc. They say it will take 24 hours.now the wait begins...! 😬
 
thank you everyone for your input and suggestions. Finally got my profile name changed! Went online straight away and booked my award flight, only get a payment error! :eek:At least I can see the booking under my bookings with a PNR. Guess I'll just have to call up and get them to put in the payment details manually.
