I've got an annual fee question, does anyone know if you cancel a card sometime after the annual fee has been charged if you get any refund on a prorata basis?

I'm fairly sure I read on AFF that others have had success in getting part of the annual fee back too, although I'm unsure of the success rate so maybe I will move aside and just let those who've done this themselves answer

I was a January renewal, and cancelled my card in March after the Great Insurance Downgrade debacle. I got the full fee back. YMMV.

That thread relates to a completely different card - is there a specific mention of insurance as it relates to the Qantas co-branded cards?
