Hi
This is my first post, even though I have been "lurking" for for quite a while, the time has come
Does anyone know if the Qantas A330-200's in J 2-3-2 have been phased out yet. I know qantas have/had 3 of these A330's in that config but I read somewhere they were "upgrading" or changing them to a 2-2-2 config. Have searched this site but nothing is coming up. Has this happened yet? We copped a 2-3-2 Syd-Per last year (worst flight ever, complained and wrote to Qantas but to no avail) and are travelling Per-Mel in April on QF802, the seating allocation is showing the international config, with a galley between rows 3 and 4 but I dont think this is truly indicative of the plane being used. Thanks in advance

The 2-3-2 is still there, albeit with a table/workspace in the middle seat.

If there's a galley between rows 3 and 4 then it is indeed the international configuration with old Skybeds, but every chance of an equipment change I'd expect.

The middle seats on this config are actually quite good. The blocked out third seat gives welcome privacy compared to the window seats that don't have a lot of elbow room.

I had this last week on a trip to Perth.

To be honest I much preferred the skybed on the A330-300 we had on the way back.

However, I think the QF J service to Perth makes up for any seat deficiencies!

And these planes have seatback IFE which enables gate-gate

I always hold my breath when I see I have one of the international configs on this route as unfortunately they are changed on occasion during the week prior to flying... but the middle seats are the way to go if you do strike the 2-3-2 config, just try for front row allocation if you can as the pitch is pretty woeful.

How does everyone find the oddball of the A332? Neither the international config or the 2-3-2 converted one? Im on it later this year, of course always subject to equipment swap.

IIRC the 332s with the blocked middle seat will show as D&F being the centre seats wheras it's EF on the other a/c.

It does give you more elbow room as you're not sitting right on top of your seat map but at first glance the cabin looks more like PE.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
