Q status run time

Hi everyone , its getting to the end of my status year I have 530 sc and want to retain gold, based now in Canberra, what's the best way to remain gold, most creative way (did see on ausbt someone is going to bali and back for $284 and 80 sc) , cheapest way, quickest way.

also husband is on 525sc (after taking up the 50% extra status offer and paid for a flexi ticket to add a quick 75points) but his year doesn't end till march, so I don't think he is in a hurry as yet. which means I will most likely be flying on my own.
