PVG int'l-to-domestic connection after QF129

G'day all,

I need to get to WUH from SYD for a trip in June. I am considering booking QF129 for SYD-PVG, scheduled to arrive 18:30, and then taking a PVG-WUH domestic flight with China Southern Airlines on CZ370, departing 21:00 - that is the latest flight that day to WUH.

Both flights depart/arrive in Terminal 2 I believe. We'll need to go through immigration, get baggage, go through customs, and then check-in to CZ370. We'll be two people and have 1 checked luggage each as well. We'll have visas in advance.

Is this 2:30 gap enough time for this connection, or am I crazy?
Does anyone have tips to speed up the process in PVG? Or, any stats on how frequently QF129 has been late in the recent past?

I'm not sure I'll be of much help, I can only share my experiences.

I have taken QF129 3-4 times per year for the last three years, and to date have not been more than 5-10 mins late. In fact in most cases I have been 15-30 mins early.

Immigration is quite well organised. I have never waited more than 20 mins to get through. (Up until a week ago I was on a Visa, now I am on an APEC card and it took a minute to get through!!)

I only travel with carry on so can't comment on the speed at which luggage arrives, which also means I'm not able to comment on the process of rechecking luggage either.

The good news appears to be that QF129 arrives at the same terminal as CZ370 departs from.

Domestic check in, if you don't have status with the airline, can be chaotic so be aware of that.

I'm overly cautious when it comes to travel in China and would probably want to allow a little longer.....just in case. (I'm running at about 50% with on time departures of my domestic flights in China though....but I also subscribe to the theory that if it can go wrong it probably will!!)

Can I? I never imagined it would be possible: SYD-PVG will be booked with QF points as ASA, PVG-WUH will be booked either with CZ directly on cash, or using Delta Skymiles points.
