Hi,

I'm new to all this so please excuse the obvious question. Can I pool points from my membership, my wife's and my son's and daughter's? I think I know the answer is no, as there seems to be no mention on the Singapore Air website, but I have to ask as we all have 27,500 each and I am about to book 4 x rtn flights Perth/London and if we could pool them I could get one of the flights for free.

lso, we each have about 9,500 of our points expiring on January and we want to travel next June and if we can't use any of our points on this upcoming trip I don't think it'd be worth extending them as we are unlikely to be able to travel again for over a year after that.

Thanks
Wayne

NO - IMHO the only way you might get to use these points isvfor 1 or 2 family members to nominate others as Redemption Nominees - then you can purchase one way Saver Awards and purchase 'top up' points to get your points balance up sufficient to secure these awards.

Dependent on where you are heading - purchasing top up points and paying fees and taxes on the award redemptions might make the whole exercise borderline but you will need to do the maths and see where you end up.

Good luck - nobody ever likes to see points expire before redemptions can be secured but sometimes it just does not work out.

Thanks for the reply :)

I have already set up so that I am a redemption Nominee for my wife and kids. I did this in the hope that I could then use all the 110,000 points together to 'buy' one economy return from Perth to London, for one of us, meaning I would then just have to $buy three tickets for the rest of us. This would save me +/- $2,200, but when I go in to do this it seems I only have access to my own points, unless I am doing something wrong?

So, anyway, if there is no way to pool these points together to use on one person's ticket, I will have to just pay full price, we will lose the 9,500 points each in January but gain another 18,000 each for the trip in June, so we will each end up with 36,000 points. However , we are unlikely to fly again for two ro three years, by which time the older 18,000 miles each will have expired etc etc, so it is unlikely that we will ever be able to collect enough to be able to use them.

Sad, but I guess we are just not 'frequent' flyers :-(

Unfortunately, you cannot pool Krisflyer miles from family members.

There is something you can use the miles for. It is a bit troublesome, and I do not know whether it works out worthwhile financially in your situation. You can use the miles from the four accounts to book SIN-PER return for two passengers. That means you will need to end up buying PER-UK tickets for two members, and also buying two SIN-UK tickets for the other two.

Alternatively, SIN to UK after online discount is 29750 miles, which is only a bit more than what you have. If you purchase the required miles, then you can do a SIN-UK award. You have to really do the maths to see which combination works for you.

Consider that you could also do an Asian side trip by extending one of your Singapore transits.

Buy your tickets to Europe as planned and give urself a 3-4 day SIN transit which you and your family could use to explore almost any SE Asian country.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
