Hello, looking at upgrading a supersaver SYD-ADL next week to business - however I need 3,000 points to do this.

Has anyone done a points top-up recently? If so were they strict on the 15% rule?

Thanks!

I have never heard of them waiving the 15% limit.

Generally you can buy 20,000 points once you hit 133,333 points, being the maximum 15%, and maximum you can buy. As for buying it for the intention to use this, this is easily overcome by just adding 20k to your points balance for the "Award you want to redeem" when asked.

Personally, I preferred being able to buy them once a year online. Bought some points the other day, and I sweat that the T/Cs read out by the phone agent lasted a good 3+ minutes.

Please Jock, no sweating online - unless you are wearing a very good quality deodrant! ;) Real gentlemen never sweat - they simply gently perspire! ;)

UPDATE: QFF advised they can only put through a purchase for 15% of total points at one time so looks like I'm out of luck there.
