Hi all,
(I'm asking here because the AMEX team that handle the flights are only in 9-5:30pm, and I know I'll get a quicker answer here because let's face it, members here tend to know more than most credit card companies
)
I took out an AMEX Platinum charge card in Jan this year, and the free Platinum Reserve credit card about a month ago. If I cancel the Charge card after a year, does anyone know if the Reserve card will get cancelled, or will I still have it until ~Sept 2012?
..and on that note is the free flight based on calendar year or membership year? Could I book a flight for Dec, and another one for say Jan, both free? Flights are based on award availability too right? Wonder how good my chances would be of a SYD-PER between Christmas and NY.
(I'm only thinking of cancelling the Charge card because I'm heading overseas to live in mid 2012. Do AMEX do a pro-rata refund on the card fee, even after 6 or so months?) Appreciate any help.
