Domestic airport makeover revealed - The West Australian

Domestic passengers will be welcomed by one of the most advanced and spacious terminals in Australia from noon today when Qantas removes the wraps on the most significant part of a $75 million redevelopment at Perth Airport.

The long-overdue makeover and expansion replaces what has become the most dysfunctional airport terminal in the nation - Perth Airport has the dubious honour of having the worst on-time record in the country.

One hopes they seperate the fluro fly in-fly out riff raff from the upper classes.

They need to have a 'regional' club and a 'citiflyer' club for proper recognition.

SPRUCE:rolleyes:

It'll be a very empty lounge when/if the fluro's go.

There was a thread around here somewhere earlier about the number of SG/WP's in the fluro club. Consensus was that it's likely that most are only SG, so if they put a J lounge in there, i'd be very happy :)

I just landed back in Perth from Melbourne. The gates have been renumbered!

. . . so if they put a J lounge in there, i'd be very happy :)

Earlier this year Qantas did say they were going to put in a J lounge in Perth in 2010 but I haven't heard anything since then (in several months). Sitting in the Perth Qantas Club now there is a Qantas sign saying renovations will commence in January 2010 and it lists some of the improvements (more showers, workstations etc.) but it does not say anything about a J lounge.

Sorry for digging up an old thread but is there a J Lounge for Perth now?

I believe it was something about being unable to negotiate the extra space needed to fit in a J lounge.

I seem to recall something about the construction of a CL instead.

Well thats what I heard from the check-in lady last time I was there...
