Is it correct that as a WP flying PER-HKT in J on a VA marketed and operated flight, I have no lounge access?

That's what the website seems to indicate, but it seems very odd. Has anyone had any luck getting entry to the SQ lounge on a VA ticket? Maybe I should have booked on SQ... :/

You are correct.

You may want to prepare yourself for an underwhelming flight as well. 7 hours in a 737 no matter the class is not fun!

PER international is as fun as watching paint dry, VA domestic lounge let us in and we just caught the bus back to the Int terminal. Although not sure if bus charges if you don't have a transfer slip to show driver.

You should get access on the way back from HKT-MEL via PER with your super promo fare!!! as your PER-MEL sector will be domestic.

How are you getting over to PER? if you come in on a VA flight you will have arrivals lounge access at the domestic. Not sure how far the Int'l terminal in Perth is from Domestic, assume it's a short bus ride away.

Where is there talk of going via MEL? All I can see is mention of PER-HKT?

I do understand the OP is from Victoria though. Yes for arrivals access at PER domestic, however the terminals aren't particularly close so I wouldn't leave it too late to transfer.

Thanks for the responses. That's disappointing - I just assumed there would be an option in the international terminal prior to departure. Dom arrivals access no good this time as we will be flying into PER the night before. Oh well, I'm sure I will live through it.

To answer the questions:
Originating and finishing in MEL. Have a separate MEL-PER booked through the TWO41 credit card offer, then used my WP upgrades. Used points for PER-HKT and then separately for HKT-PER-MEL.

Don't worry, I booked a PER DPS in VA J a few months ago but was so incensed when I found out that lounge access wasn't included that I cancelled the ticket and booked GA.

Really VA, this is simply not good enough. A J fare should include lounge access. End of story.
