Wasn't sure where to post this, however I found a fascinating video of PA's around the world across both poles flight for their 50th anniversary. Show some youngsters how people used to fly - the clothes, the service, the attitudes.

My thoughts and questions…

• omg how tired would everyone have been!
• how much did it cost for a ticket?
• i presume there must have been some sort of crew bunks on the SP? But still, same pilots took off and landed, 54 hours rostered on. Wonder if that would even be allowed these days?
• i note the 2-hour transits. Imagine that. We can barely turn around domestic 737s in an hour, and international are really pushing it for two hours. And this is almost 50 later!

Loved getting a glimpse of the 'golden age' of jet travel and the incredible routing around the two poles. I noticed there was a generous supply of Tic Tacs on the counter to the gentleman's left to keep things fresh.

You'd want to have taken that Monday off to recover from that weekend away!
