Hello,
I am going to Bali for a holiday in November and have the option of either Pacific Blue or Singapore Airlines, both about the same price although Pacific Blue direct.
Has anyone travelled with Pacific Blue that could share their experience, i.e service, seating etc.

Thanks,
Mike

There is absolutely no question that Singapore Airlines is by far superior to Pacific Blue. Both being the same price, I would most definitely go Singapore. Singapore is a full service carrier while Pacific Blue is a low cost carrier. Singapore will feed you, entertain you and be as hospitable as possible.

The only reason one would possibly want to go Pacific is that it is non-stop.

Thanks for the input. We were going to go Singapore and try and upgrade but we haven't been having much luck with upgrades with them, so thought might as well just save the money.
Thanks

This is the complication. From east coast direct, Bali is about 5-6 hours non stop. Via Singapore, it's 7 hours then another 2.5hrs back the other direction, plus transit time, so probably looking at at least 11 hrs. Whilst SQ economy is good, unless planning a stopover in Singapore I wouldn't think the extra time would make it worthwhile. Also, as far as FF points go, some of the lower SQ fares do not earn pts (would need to check this), whereas all Pacific Blue ones will.

Where are you flying from?

If from SYD I would fly with Pacific Blue... the flights are usually load restricted - afriend flew the other day with a flight capped at aorund 120 so 60 spare seats to stretch out!

Leaving from Brisbane, which is probably our first mistake on choice of flights. We might have a look at going to sydney for a better choice.

Ok if laving from BNE I dont think DJ flights are laod restricted... they are non stop though where as JQ would be one stop via Darwin and SQ would add a good few hours of extra flying and airport time.
