Hi all - hope everyone reading this is well!

Need some advice on flights from Osaka to Melbourne.

When I book this as a single trip, the Qantas website shows me the following as an option

7:35-8:55
Kansai - Narita
GK200

11:00-23:05
Narita - Melbourne
JL773

However when I try and book a multi city trip for Melbourne - Narita - Kansai - Melbourne, this option doesn’t show up for me, unless I add a fourth city ie Melbourne - Narita - Kansai - Narita - Melbourne

Any ideas why? Also, is this cutting it close given I’ve got 2 hours to make my connection to Melbourne in Narita?

Thanks in advance everyone!

Thanks. My wife and I are travelling with a toddler, I might add! 😁

Would we have to switch terminals, and do you know if bags are checked all the way through?

Thanks! How do I find out whether my bags will be checked all the way through to Mel?

I don't have direct experience but this page may help. I would seek further clarification if i was you though

With Jetstar Japan, you'll arrive at NRT T3 and need to change to NRT T2. There is no airside connection, nor is T3 on the train or bus lines (looks like T3 is on the land side terminal transfer routes, but not the bus routes into the city). You'll have to walk down the path to T2 (~500m, undercover).
T3 is next to T2.

NRT T3 is a low cost terminal like MEL T4. No air bridges.
GK-JL min connect time at NRT is 1.55, you might be cutting it close with the terminal change. More so if you have to recollect bags and recheck.
Have you considered departing from Osaka-Itami instead of Kansai? JL3004 departs ITM at 8am and arrives NRT T2 at 9.20. Slightly less time then the GK connection, though it is the same terminal and there is no question about baggage check through. The JL-JL min connection time for 3002>773 is also lower (1 hour).

If you get the JL ITM-NRT flight, then you'd arrive at the southern gates of the main T2 building (gates 63-68 can switch between domestic and international), and follow the passage towards baggage claim. There is a path near domestic baggage claim that goes right to international screening and immigration.
