I'll be flying to Paris and noticed the airlines arrive and depart from either ORLY or CDG airport. I've haven't picked my airline yet but would like to know the pros and cons for each airport. Mainly in terms of ease getting into & out of Paris by the various modes of public transport. The time needed, costs, check-in etc.

ORY is south of Paris, CDG is to the northwest.

ORY is slightly closer, but the train doesn't go to the terminals, you need to get the connecting ORLYVAL to the RER B line. From CDG you can get the RER B line from the terminals. CDG also has connections on the TGV to many French cities.

Because of the number and size of CDG's terminals it is more difficult to get around. ORY is a smaller airport so a little easier to navigate.

CDG is where the majority of airlines fly to, with ORY hosting mainly short haul European flights.

Flew into ORY in December - very fast out of the terminal & very quickly dropped off at our rented apartment near Rue Cler in the 7th arrondissement. As a first time user, very happy considering the the dramas we've had at CDG.

Nothing flashy about the place but then again nor is CDG.
