Quick question:

If I fly on a Star Alliance airline (Air China) and my boarding pass is issued by Cathay with a Cathay (codeshare) flight number, can I still get OneWorld (QF) points?

Cheers,

JOBU

Short answer. No

With code shares. Points are only earned if the codeshare is another OW partner

From Qantas.com

Excluded: Points and Status Credits are not earned on joint venture flights or Codeshare Flights operated by airlines other than oneworld ™ Alliance Airlines.

Sorry, I was giving a broader answer. For each airline in OneWorld, there are different Codeshare conditions as to whether you earn points.

Eg - if you were on an AA codeshare on China Air, you would earn points and SC's.

Best for any person in this situation to check the T&C's for themselves. Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Terms & Conditions

I guess I just jumped right into the specifics of the OP question.
