Hi all,

We booked a trip through oneworld and there will be flights by different airlines than just through Qantas.

Am I correct when these flights are also elligible for Qantas FF points, because the have a partnership?

Thanks in advance.

You can't book through Oneworld as an entity - you must book through one of the alliance airlines. If you are in Australia, Oneworld will direct you to Qantas.

That said, if your booking carries your QFF membership number, points and status credits will accrue to your account. If status is important to you, remeber that you need to fly a least 4 sectors on Qantas metal to gain status (although not necessarily in your current booking - any 4 sectors will do.)

Generally yes you will earn points and status credits, but not all flights are eligible.

You need to have a look at Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Terms & Conditions and check the "Booking class" against the table for the airline you are going to be flying.

The booking class can often be obtained from your itinerary, or alternatively by asking your travel arranger.

Check he booking class for the fare. Its generally the first letter of the "fare basis". The cheapest discount economy fares often to not earn FF points in other programs, so you need to check the booking class against those listed in the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions as being eligible fares for earning FF points and Status Credits.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

To save many of the issues that come up, check that you have a codeshare flight number i.e. a QF flight number associated with all flight sectors. For example I recieved full SC and points (1000 min guarantee) for a flight that had a coeshare, but only a couple of hundred miles.

Definitely check the terms and conditions as previously posted. Discounted flights on AA and CX frequently do not earn points or status credits, in my experience.
