I sincerely hope 6E can join OneWorld, and they can ramp up negotiations with CZ to make OneWorld service available in the world's largest economies and enable us to earn status credits.

6E would have to drastically improve their service offering I think to join OW? They’re essentially a low cost carrier, despite introducing ‘business class’ recently. Watched a flight review and the business class meal is something in a cardboard box (and not to KLM standards :()

AB was essentially a LCC but that didn’t end well unfortunately.

Kingfisher of course was the Indian “promised land” that failed to deliver…😔

Or Jet Airways. They were ok/good.

Ah, kingfisher… the virgin Atlantic of India! They were certainly fun… being dry on domestic routes they served sparking apple juice in champagne flutes, and little extras like the crew cleaning your reading glasses before landing!

Itd be interesting for sure, but also i suspect would depend on how 6e changes. I'm not sure if ow would take on a pure LCC.

As for CZ, I don't think we'll see CZ as long as CX is around. JX maybe but CZ is literally based next door to CX.

It depends on whether the objective is to provide more airlines for customers, or more customers for member airlines?

Regardless of onboard product (or the absence of lounges on the ground) or benefits for travellers, Indigo offers one world member airlines potentially improved access to Indian travellers, who are part of or will form part of the Indigo ecosystem. There is no one else currently in the Indian market that has the breadth that Indigo has, other than Air India which is locked into Star Alliance.

If QF is going to do more codeshares into the Indian subcontinent, a good start would be to expand the sharing with UL through CMB to more than just from SIN.
But UL issued tickets certainly help my wandering

That would leach traffic off their direct services ex SYD/MEL.

The only full service airline in India is AI. The other was UK, but they merged/acquired by AI unfortunately.
