I too, concur that OneWorld Connect is pretty much a joke.
I am a QR WP / OWE and recently booked and travelled from SYD/NAD return in J on revenue tickets. Both flights were booked with QF but SYD/NAD was operated by FJ and the return was operated by QF.
I was denied access to the QF F lounge and directed to the J lounge (as a J pax on a QF ticket I could access there, but if I was travelling in Y then I would have had no lounge access at all).
I have not received any status credits or FF mileage as this flight was marketed by QF, but operated by FJ.
On return flight, I got access to the lounge in NAD (again, travelling J, but if I was travelling Y my OWE would have provided access) and did receive full status credits and FF mileage.
It’s frustrating - if I booked FJ then I would expect some issues, but as I booked, paid and was travelling on QF flight #’s I expected OW benefits where they were available.
If full benefits aren’t available, there should be a notice when you book! For example - I was booking an Iberia flight (with IB #) but there was a notice that told me it was operated by Vueling and no OW benefits applied. So I made alternate arrangements.
QF and FJ are taking the Mickey here ... with this OW Connect malarkey

I don't think that's right - FJ flights have always earned SC when I've booked them.
