OLCI & Fly Ahead

Just wondering if anyone has had success with OLCI with their booked flight but utilise the 'Fly-Ahead' benefit if they happen to get to the airport early.

Yes, I have. Even though I was silver! I entered the MEL lounge at 1:35pm with OLCI to the 3:00pm flight completed. I commented that most flights to Sydney earlier that morning had been delayed an hour, and asked if I was likely to get to Sydney before 4:30pm? The response was, "to be sure, we can put you on the 2:00pm!".

Yes, last week in fact. Arrived at MEL Lounge at 12.10pm for a 2pm flight to SYD and got offered the 1pm.

I have used fly ahead with 7 bags already checked in traveling J! We where booked on a early service from the lounge!

Was hoping to use fly ahead today but alas not to be as all flights SYD-BNE are full.

Could be a blessing in disguise as one of the earlier flights is now delayed....
