I flew with Qatar to Sydney in December last year (2019) but my boarding pass is dated December 2020 (see attached).

How is this?20200314_182850.jpg

According to a "FlightStats" 2020 is the "Scheduled" departure time of this flight - possibly it has just been printed a bit close to the date column.

Edit: Looking on-line other QR Boarding Passes also follow this format with the departure time printed close to the date. It was just your luck that the departure time seemed to line up with a date for this year.

Good detective work. I was more concerned by the Y that was printed on it!

Given the date of the post, I thought maybe it was a flight on the 12th of March and the QF IT Dept was on study exchange.
