According to ABC just in news Malaysia airlines is limiting passengers to 7 kgs hand luggage in Y and 14 kgs in Business.
Due to strong winds and longer flight routes.

Is this a good marketing strategy during European winter?
Also said checked in luggage could be carried separately.

Maybe it is an advertising gimmick? Sounds counter productive to me.

This is another reason why flying with MH is undesirable - luck does not seem to with this airline.

Luck has nothing to do with this. Either someone hasn't paid up, or this is the idea befitting of a moron who should be paying an exorbitance for his life support.

The only other plausible theories are that there is a genuine threat (terrorist) against Malaysia Airlines. That may be unfortunate, but there must have been a better way to manage the longer flight path implications rather than the suggestion here. This cannot have been the only viable - let alone, economically viable - option. I can understand that a stopover would likely not have been a satisfactory option, but still.

I think this thread should be merged into the longer, first mainline one...
