Not sure if this is old news or not and haven't thought to look at other ports, but noticed these new kiosks in CNS check-in area about two weeks ago.

Has anyone else noticed them elsewhere?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

They're in preparation for the Sabre Sonic res system. All ports are getting them, can't remember the source.

What's most useful is you can tap your NFC enabled Velocity Card (That's all Velocity Cards Issued for Gold/Plats from May 2011) on the top of the reader and it'll find your booking.

HBA has had them for a month or so. haven't experimented with them yet - but what sort of bps are they spitting out? cardboard or the semi-oldschool paper ones?

Wonder how they'll compare with QF's Q Card reader. Less convenient in terms of beep and go but more versatile in the fact you can look at your booking and go through the normal steps? (ie seat selection or the dreadful self bag and tag)

What are the semi-oldschool ones? I've only ever seen paper (dispensed at machine) and cardboard ones (I assume they are cardboard since they are thicker adispensed at check-in counter) across DJ/QF/JQ

I don't know about what Sabre will be like, but the kiosks are still..........so........so........slow..........

I guess semi-oldschool in my mind is what came out of the old machines. Oldschool in my mind is the shopper dockets one obtained from the counters. I'm sure others think otherwise. Regardless, what sort of BP is coming out of these new machines...? Same as previously came out of machines?

And LiamR, here's hoping they speed up!

Has anyone noticed if the kiosks performance has improved since the sabre cutover?
