new to velocity platinum

Clicked over to platinum mid flight. Had 960 before flight and 1040 after. The anniversary date has reset(PREVIOUS DATE WAS 22/9/19) and says I am platinum and I need 800 SCs to qualify again.
Question is does that 40 SCs go to next year? I thought it would reset to zero as its a new anniversary date.
I have since done another flight and it's now sitting on 1167 SCs still saying I need 800 SCs and 8 eligible flights. Was going to ring customer care but wanted to know any from fellow AFF members their thoughts beforehand.

Any 'excess' status credits earned before you are officially awarded WP (above the 1000SC required) are generally 'lost' for requalification purposes.

Excluding the flight where you qualified for Plat, any between then and when you were awarded Plat won't count towards your new qualification. At least not automatically. I've read here that you can call VA and ask them to manually push those SC towards requal.

Yes I rang VA and they did change and reapply the second flight to go towards requalifying but not the lost 40scs
