I think it's a lovely song and Johns has done well - I can see the ads already. But it doesn't feel like something that suits an airline, let alone one with Qantas's particular profile. Certainly doesn't have the same impact on me that "I Still Call Australia Home" did.

Interesting to see how it is received more generally though.

Don't think the YouTube clip of 'Atlas' is the commercial, it's just the song they will be using.

And they clearly went to MQL in the clip

Agreed, I don't think it will have anywhere near the impact of I Still Call Australia Home. Having it be just an orchestration and not having lyrics requires having better visuals that convey more to the watcher/listener and will require an adjustment in their previous marketing strategy behind their ad campaigns. At the end of the day I'm not sure its the kind of song that represents who Qantas are, what they're best at and doesn't have the same impact as I Still Call Australia Home.

But, I'll hold off on my final judgment till the ad airs on August 3rd.
